Running a DQ Test

New in Version 6.1

Running a test requires the Rule Creator role or above.

Before you rely on a rule, run it. A test run shows you exactly what the rule catches against real data — so you can tell if a threshold is too strict, too loose, or just right, before you commit to it.

Ways to run a test

  • Manually run a single rule:

    • Go to Rules.

    • Open a rule profile.

    • Select the Rule Test Run tab.

    • Click Run Rule.

  • Manually run a schedule group (multiple tests assigned):

    • Open a schedule group.

    • Click Run Now

What a test run shows

  • Total rows checked and rows that failed.

  • The pass rate (e.g. 99.73%).

  • A clear verdict — pass or fail against the rule's threshold.

  • A sample of real failing examples, so you can see exactly what's wrong.

Tuning a rule from its results

If the pass rate looks too strict or too loose, edit the rule's threshold or logic and run the test again before committing to it. There's no limit on how many times you can re-test a draft rule.
